Israk & Mikraj

When we talk about the events of Israk and Mikraj, we will spontaneously imagine the journey of the Prophet together with the angels Gabriel and Michael which can be divided into two phases:
1.      Israk is the journey of Prophet Muhammad to ride the Buraq beast from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca to the Aqsa Mosque, in Baitulmaqdis, Palestine.
2.      Mikraj is a journey from the Aqsa Mosque to Sidratil Muntaha in the seventh heaven. The journey of Prophet Muhammad has been immortalized by Allah سبحانه وتعالى in the Qur'an:
3.
"Glory be to Allah Who has performed His servant one night from Al-Masjidil Haram to Al-Masjidil Aqsa which we have blessed around him, that We may show him some of Our signs. Surely He is the Hearer, the Seer. "
(Surah Al-Israa ': Verse 1).
Do we realise that if Israk Mikraj never happened on Rejab 27th, we would have been performing more than five prayer times a day. In general, Israk Mikraj is a journey of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW to Sidratul Muntaha to meet Allah SWT as a command from Him to perform daily prayers of five times a day.
Before the Israk and Mikraj incident, Prophet Muhammad undergo chest surgery performed by the angels Jibrail and Mika'il. His heart washed with water zam-zam and thrown black lumps ('alaqah) where the devil whispered it. Then poured wisdom, knowledge and faith into the chest of the Prophet . After that, his father's were sewn and painted with "khatimin nubuwwah" .
After the surgery, a beast was named "Buraq" to be ridden by Rasulullah on a tremendous journey called "Israk" .
Through the phenomenal event arranged by Allah, it is seen as one of His divinities that we as human should acknowledge without questioning why. Allah also wants to remind all mankind His power is beyond ordinary that no human has the capability to imagine the truest power of the Almighty.
Apart from that, Israk Mikraj was also an event of substitution for the grief of Prophet Muhammad SAW, after he faced a multitude of trials, particularly the tremendous opposition in his dakwah efforts.
Meanwhile, the loss of his relative, Abu Talib was also the cause of Muhammad’s grief and his uncle died in a state of disbelief to Allah SWT. In fact, the death of his beloved wife, Siti Khadijah Khuwailid further extended Muhammad’s grief.
In addition to the indication of the greatness of Allah SWT through the phenomenal event of Israk Mikraj, it was also concocted to enlighten the recognition of Muhammad as the final messenger of Allah in the Earth. So with the presence of Israk Mikraj, this proves the honour of Prophet Muhammad SAW and that of it should be remembered all the time.
Even though the event of Israk Mikraj is absolutely unimaginable and beyond our ability to visualise, all believers holding the faith to Allah SWT must be convinced with the event without any doubts. That’s because surely only Allah SWT knows everything in His power. What needs to be seeded in the heart is our belief towards Him and that we are required to be in a state of belief by performing daily prayers five times a day to prove our faith to Him.
